The steel and concrete of the city might seem stable and strong but they are no match for the secrets hiding in Toronto's streets. Humanity is mostly ignorant, but the few who are learning the truth realize that ignorance might be bliss...or death.
To the mythical beings normally found only in nightmares, humanity is the source of vitality and power. To many, blood and flesh are all humans are good for. Prey to be fed upon and manipulated as these beings war for territory and survival in a world that doesn't understand them.
What are these beasts intoxicated by the flesh and blood of humans, and the thrill of the hunt? We know the stories about vampires and werewolves, but in Toronto, they are so much more than stories.
Vampires, those blood-craving immortals, don't sparkle in sunlight and appear very much human, but usually prefer to prowl under the anonymity of night. These mainly solitary creatures are fast enough to drain the life from your body before you know what's happening, but not all of them are as cold and unfeeling as you might expect.
The natural enemy of the vampire is the werewolf, flesh-eating monsters with brutal strength. Though they can pass for human, they can transform at will into a wolf with an instinct to kill that might be unrivaled by human psychopaths. These creatures are territorial and aggressive, but also very protective of their own.
Both species vie for Toronto, for prey, for life, with humanity caught mostly unaware in the crossfire. But not all of them are unaware. Hunters know this dark side of the city, and they know the stakes. They are willing to risk it all to rid humans of this danger, before it's too late, and more innocents are murdered or worse...turned into one of them. Who knew nightmares could be real?
